I love how neuroscientist Ryan Gosling is a thing that exists on the Internets.

Male privilege is the sexualization of Breast Cancer awareness.

THIS
it reminds me of what Randall Munroe said:
“The frustrating thing about the “Save the Boobies” campaign and similar things (like the “Booberday” meme going around G+) is that they get it exactly backward. Often, the point of breast cancer treatment is to destroy some or all of the boobies in order to save the woman.
Saying that we should work to cure this disease because it threatens breasts is really upsetting. For starters, it suggests that women are worth saving because they’re attached to breasts, rather than the other way around. But worse, it tells any woman who’s had a mastectomy to try to save her life that she’s lost the thing that made people care about her survival. What a punch in the stomach.”

god i hhhhhaaaaate this culture surrounding breast cancer awareness month i hate it a lot

same here.

The woman who made your Wifi working.
Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian-born American actress. Max Reinhardt called her the “most beautiful woman in Europe” due to her “strikingly dark exotic looks”.
Mathematically talented, Lamarr came up with an early technique for spread spectrum communications and frequency hopping, necessary for wireless communication from the pre-computer age to the present day.

It’s called the Dragon Curve - it’s a fractal, and it’s awesome. Fractal’s are recurring patterns that happen in math, science, nature, etc. They repeat upon themselves and make this beautiful design that you can’t even fathom until you step back and look at it. And I think that’s how I look at life. It’s a series of events, ranging from fantastic to fantastically shitty, but no matter what it looks beautiful every time we take a step back and really think about it.

Call it the Dragon Curve if you want, but I’ll forever remember it as “that fractal curve from Jurassic Park!!!1!”
